President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali takes interest in preparations for holy month of Ramadan
President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali received, as he met on Wednesday with religious affairs minister Boubaker el Akhzouri, a report on the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan related notably to fitting out places of worship which will host religious courses and evenings aimed to deepen awareness of the noble values and teachings of the Islamic religion and entrench its principles in such a manner as to reconcile the tenets of the religion and the requirements of progress.
CARTHAGE - President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali received, as he met on Wednesday with religious affairs minister Boubaker el Akhzouri, a report on the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan related notably to fitting out places of worship which will host religious courses and evenings aimed to deepen awareness of the noble values and teachings of the Islamic religion and entrench its principles in such a manner as to reconcile the tenets of the religion and the requirements of progress.
The President of the Republic highlighted the importance of paying necessary attention to the religious guidance of Tunisian expatriates.
He also recommended to see to the good organisation of Koran reciting contests at the national, regional and local levels.
During this meeting, the minister informed the Head of State of works of the national committee charged with examining bids for the President of the Republic's Prize for Islamic Studies.
