President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali honours two Tunisian world champions

CARTHAGE - As part of encouraging sportspeople who distinguish themselves in international sports events, President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali honoured, in a ceremony held on Saturday afternoon, young athlete Khaoula Ben Hamza who had won the gold medal at the World Juniors' Taekwondo Championship, held recently in Izmir, Turkey.

 Head of State honours champion Khalil MaaouiaThe Head of State also honoured champion Khalil Maaouia who won three gold medals at the World Juniors' Weightlifting Championship, held in Cali, Colombia.

The President of the Republic lavished encouragements on the two young Tunisian champions, urging them to exert greater efforts and abnegation so as to carry on their distinguished sports career and hoist the national flag in the next international sports events. The ceremony was attended by the youth, sports and physical education minister.
