CARTHAGE - Members of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) Foreign Ministers Council expressed consideration and gratitude to President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali for the sustained interest he takes in Maghreb action and the efforts he exerts to enrich the gains of the Maghreb process and consecrate the choices it implies.

In a message sent to the Head of State, on the closing of their 28th regular session held on Sunday in Tripoli, the Maghreb officials hail the role played by Tunisia in consolidating AMU's attributes and reinforcing its institutions.

They express conviction that President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali will endeavour, together with his brothers, members of the Union's presidency council, to further energise the Maghreb process in order to meet the aspirations of the region's peoples to edify a unified Maghreb space.

Members of AMU Foreign Ministers Council reassert, in their message, will to forge ahead on the path of materialising the Union's executive programmes and consecrate the tradition of consultation with a view to strengthening the Arab Maghreb process and achieving the Maghreb peoples' expectations.
