Open Day for employment of disabled and solidarity caravans in Gabes region
Under the high auspices of Mrs. Leila Ben Ali, spouse of the President of the Republic and chairwoman of the "Basma" association for the promotion of disabled, an open day on employment of disabled was organised, Wednesday in Gabes, as well as four solidarity caravans for the benefit of several families in the region at the initiative of the Basma Association.
GABES – Under the high auspices of Mrs. Leila Ben Ali, spouse of the President of the Republic and chairwoman of the "Basma" association for the promotion of disabled, an open day on employment of disabled was organised, Wednesday in Gabes, as well as four solidarity caravans for the benefit of several families in the region at the initiative of the Basma Association.
The meeting which was organised on the occasion of the National Disabled Day, registered the participation of representatives of associations and structures concerned by employment, financing of project and the guidance of the disabled in the region.
During the open day, 24 job contracts were distributed and some 27 subsidies for the creation of income sources for the disabled were also granted. Besides, the Basma Association organised four solidarity caravans for the distribution of social assistance for 680 families. On this occasion, the members of the association underlined the particular attention granted by President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali to needy categories, to guarantee them an adequate social guidance.
Emphasis was placed on "Basma" association keenness to continue to organise such meetings, in the regions to meet the expectations and the concerns of the disabled and open before them broader prospects of employment and production.
For their part, the beneficiaries voiced their feelings of gratitude to the Head of State for the permanent protection he guarantees to the specific-need categories in consecration of the values of solidarity between the fringes of the Tunisian society. They voiced their heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Leila Ben Ali for her efforts to facilitate integration of the disabled in the economic channel.
