Cultural co-operation programme between Tunisia and Turkey signed
A Tunisian-Turkish cultural co-operation programme was signed by culture and heritage preservation minister Mohamed El-Aziz Ben Achour, who is on a working visit in Ankara, and his Turkish opposite number Erugruel Gunay.
ANKARA - A Tunisian-Turkish cultural co-operation programme was signed by culture and heritage preservation minister Mohamed El-Aziz Ben Achour, who is on a working visit in Ankara, and his Turkish opposite number Erugruel Gunay.
This three-year co-operation programme touches upon various fields of intellectual, literary and artistic creation, and provides for the exchange of visits of cultural delegations between the two countries and encouragement publishing and translation.
It also aims to multiply visit exchanges between the two countries' researchers and publications between the Tunisian Sciences, Literature and Arts Academy ("Beit El-Hikma") and similar Turkish establishments.
This programme is meant to make better known the two countries' historical and cultural peculiarities, by means of boosting co-operation in the fields of archeology, arts history, museums and heritage preservation.
It also provides for promoting joint production of documentaries, reinforcing theatrical companies' participation in festivals, organising exhibitions and taking part in cultural meetings held in both countries.
The Turkish minister commended, on the occasion, the efforts exerted by Turkey and Tunisia to strengthen the ties of rapprochement and contact between the two countries, expressing will to enrich the contents of the co-operation programme and make the most of all opportunities aimed to further reinforce it.
He, in this regard, voiced Turkey's will to make the most of the Tunisian experience in matters of heritage preservation, particularly as regards the preservation of mosaics.
The signing ceremony was attended by Tunisia's ambassador in Ankara.</
