Mohamed Ahensal grabs MdS 23rd edition
Moroccan athlete Mohamed Ahensal grabbed, Saturday, the 23rd edition of the Marathon des Sables (MdS).

After coming second behind his brother Lahcen seven times, Mohamad Ahensal won his second marathon des Sables, after that of 1998, treating himself to stage victory after crossing the 17.5-km long last step of the race in 1:08.34. This performance enabled him to secure his position as a leader in the general ranking with a timing of 19:27.64.
Jordan's Salameh Al Aqra was awarded the silver medal as he crossed the arrival line 19 minutes after Lahcen.
In women's race, the competition was grabbed by Moroccan Touda Didi who finished the six stages of the race in 28:38.11.
The MdS is a six-day 243km endurance race across the Sahara Desert in Morocco, normally taking place at the end of March or beginning of April.
