Davis Cup qualifiers: Morocco to take on Egypt
Casablanca - Morocco will take on Egypt on July 18-20 at the Europe/Africa Zone Group II qualifiers to Davis Cup World.
Supervised by Abderrahim Moundir, the national team includes Younes El Aynaoui, Reda El Amrani, Rabie Chaki, Mounir El Aarej, Mehdi Ziadi and Talal El Ouahabi.
In preparation for this showdown, the national squad is undertaking a training camp in Marrakech (July 8-12), before flying to Cairo, where it will undertake another training camp.
Morocco had lost to Ireland in the first round of 2008 Europe/Africa Zone Group II and now faces a play-off to remain in this group and avoid relegation to Group III for the first time.
Morocco's best Davis Cup performances are World Group first round in 2001, 2002 and 2004, while it pushed Spain to a deciding fifth rubber in 2002.
