'China's Secret Mummies' shot in Morocco named for Emmy Awards
"China's Secret Mummies", a documentary co-produced by the Moroccan company "Dreamaker" and the National Geographic Television, was short-listed to receive the prize of the best documentary and best setting.
The documentary was contributed to by Moroccan director and producer, Fouad Challa, and his fellow countryman, decoration expert, Boujemaa Rassourance.
China's Secret Mummies was shot during three weeks in 2007 in Ouarzazate studios, now known as Morocco's Hollywood.
It relates the adventurous journey of Dr. Spencer Wells in the Chinese ,desert in search for the millennium mummies to decipher their genetic identity and dig into their past.
Through DNA tests, Dr. Wells finds out the mummies had Mesopotamian and Hindu origins.
Due in September in New York, the Emmy Awards, which grants awards in 33 categories, will be covered by over a thousand TV channels and several other media outlets.
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences was founded in 1955 to promote artistic, technical and educational creativity in the TV industry.
