First radiology conference in Arab-Islamic world launches in Morocco

Marrakech - An International Radiology Conference kicked off Thursday in Marrakech, Morocco with the participation of over 150 experts representing the world's radiology associations.


   The four-day event, which was launched by Prince Moulay Rachid (younger brother of king Mohammed VI of Morocco), will discuss the latest breakthroughs in terms of medical imaging, and explore the possibilities to make this technique accessible to the underprivileged social classes.

   The congress is held under the topic: "Position of Modern Radiography in Screening and Treatment".
   It is the first of a kind to be held in an Arab and Muslim country. 

   The meeting is gathering specialists in different fields, such as nuclear medicine, health physics, radiotherapy and oncology.
