Madrid - Spain must put pressure on Algeria in the case of Aminatou Haidar, Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah said on Friday

    "Spain must understand that Aminatou Haidar is being manipulated by the Algerian secret services. They want to make her a martyr. The Spanish government must put pressure on Algeria to put an end to this," Biadillah told the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo."

    Aminatou Haidar's case is part of a "strategic and diabolical plan to impede negotiations on the autonomy of the Sahara. I am convinced that this is a carefully crafted conspiracy," he said.

    "What a curious coincidence that all this takes place just when negotiations would resume. It is clear that they want to embarrass the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Christopher Ross," Biadillah noted.

    Morocco’s autonomy proposal is a just solution that allows us to move forward for a win-win situation, he said.
