Portuguese government approves cooperation agreement with Morocco on environment
Lisbon - The Portuguese government, on Thursday, approved, during the weekly council of ministers, the cooperation agreement in the field of environment and national planning and development, signed with Morocco in Rabat on April 17, 2007.
The agreement aims to promote scientific, technical and technological cooperation between Rabat and Lisbon in the area of environment and national planning and development to address problems relating to urbanization, urban environment impairment and man-made pollution.
Under this agreement, signed during the ninth session of the Moroccan-Portuguese high-level meeting, the two parties commit to take concrete measures and set up financial mechanisms aimed at supporting their efforts in tackling problems related to climate change and desertification.
