Paris - A Moroccan lady who has been ordered last Friday by a French court to quit France, will now be able to get cure legally for her thyroid cancer thanks to a decision taken Sunday by Immigration Minister, Brice Hortefeux.

Thirty-five year-old Bouchra Ahrram, who is living with her two brothers and a sister - all three born in France - will have her situation regularized, French daily, L'Humanité, reported on Monday.

Ahrram was unable to renew a carte de séjour obtained for healthcare reasons, and which expired late 2007. The administrative court decided her expulsion because a medical doctor said she could be treated in Morocco, and she was then arrested and sent to a detention center.

According to the prefecture of Yvelines, Paris outskirts, Ahrram did not lodge request against the decision to expulse her in due time, "so she was driven to the detention center, awaiting her dispatch to the frontiers," a spokesman for the prefecture had declared.

“The minister deemed that it was a rather strict manner of applying the law without taking account of the humanitarian factors, which he particularly insists to take account of,” director of the minister office, Thierry Coudert, said on Sunday.
