Over 1.8 m Moroccan expats back home for summer holiday up to August 13
Rabat - Some 1,867,210 Moroccans living abroad have traveled back to Morocco for summer holidays up to August 13, a 9.73% increase compared with the same period in 2007, revealed, here Friday, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
In a press release on the Marhaba (welcome) Operation 2008, the Foundation said that the number of vehicles, amounting to some 356,817, has fallen by 3.12%.
According to the same source, some 1,277,351 travelers passed via the sea, adding that the port of the northern city of Tangiers continues to witness the largest influx with 568,862 people, representing 44.5% of the total.
Air travelers totaled some 589,859 people, that is 31.6% of the total number of entries, said the press release.
