Alexandria International Film Festival to feature four Moroccan movies

Cairo - The 23rd edition of the International film festival of Alexandria (Egypt), slated for September 7-11, will feature four Moroccan films.

     These are: "What a Wonderful World" by Faouzi Bensaidi which will participate in the official competition while the three other feature films  "Rih al Bahr" (the sea wind) by  Abdelhay El Iraki,  "Darraja" (bicycle) by Hamid Faridi, and "Trik Layalat" (women's way)  by Farida Bourkia will be  shown in the out- of-competition category.

    A total of 11 movies are expected to take part in the official competition of the Alexandria Film Festival while 45 feature films will to be screened in the out-of-competition category. Tunisian film director Nouri Bouzid chairs this edition Jury.
 
     The festival will pay tribute to this filmmaker by screening three of his movies: "the golden clog" "Ashes man" and "Making Off."

    The festival also features the screening of European- African movie “Goodbye Bafana”, which tells the story of James Gregory a white south- African prison guard and confident of Nelson Mandela since his incarceration in the 60s until the 90s when he was freed.

     Organized by the Egyptian Association of Film Writers and Critics, the Alexandria Film Festival aims to broaden film culture and strengthen the relationships between filmmakers throughout the world. Although films from all countries are welcome, the festival places particular focus on Mediterranean productions.
