Al-Hoceima - King Mohammed VI on Thursday inquired about the tourism development plan "Vision 2015" in the northeastern province of Al-Hoceima, whose achievement requires a total investment of MAD 8.5Bn ($ 1.16 billion).

The implementation of this plan will enable the region to reach a hosting capacity of approximately 10,000 beds in star-graded hotels, 300,000 tourist arrivals, and 1.8 million guest nights with a projected occupancy rate of 50%.

The achievement of this action plan will also create some 5,000 direct jobs.

As part of the same project, nautical bases and parks will be created in order to enhance recreation activities, as well as the organization of important events to promote the region and show off its attractiveness during different periods of the year.

The city of Al-Hoceima will be endowed with a regional council of tourism, which will be entrusted with the monitoring and the implementation of the “Vision 2015”.
