Qathafi: we have condemned because of our support to liberation movements
Addressing the African Union Ministers of Interior Council, the Libyan leader Muammar al-Qathafi said "Libya embraced all liberation movements, for which Libya has been regarded and indeed up to this hour a state sponsor of terrorism, from Western perspective and especially America, because America at that time regarded all liberation movements, as terrorist movements, in the same way, it regards now Palestine liberation movement and the like, as terrorist organizations," JANA reported Saturday.

The report quoted Qathafi saying "This how western countries used to look into African liberation movements, and most liberation movements which used to have bases and training camps in Libya as well as material and moral support from Libya, the revolution. For these reasons Libya was regarded state sponsor of terrorism, and it is still on this list. Any how we are now paying the price of carrying out our duty towards our African continent."
The report quoted Qathafi saying "Thanks be to God, the liberation operation was successfully carried out, and the latest of which was the liberation of our people in South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique and Zimbabwe from racial segregation."
