The leader of the republic of the territory of Somalia, which is not internationally recognized, Mohamed Ibrahim Egal announced his rejection of a Libyan proposal that calls for appointing him to the post of prime minister in a new Somali government.
Egal added, "I have refused to meet with the leader of the united Somali conference," Hussein Aideed, saying that Aideed had given Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi inaccurate information on the position of the republic of the territory of Somalia as a separatist state. He added, "We do not have anything in common to discuss."
The republic, which includes five regional districts, claimed independence from other parts of Somalia and declared itself as an independent state in 1991.
