The Libyan authorities have decided to pardon 18 Egyptian prisoners.

CAIRO - The Libyan authorities have decided to pardon 18 Egyptian prisoners.

Egyptian ambassador in Libya said the 18 Egyptian prisoners who served about half of their sentences will be deported to their home within the current week.

Egyptian and Libyan authorities coordinate efforts to secure the deportation process, Egyptian daily Al-Ahram reported.

Egyptian ambassador in Libya Mohamed El-Nokali praised the Libyan decision, underlining the strength of the deep-rooted Egyptian-Libyan ties.

He told Al-Ahram that the released Egyptian prisoners were among 42 Egyptian prisoners who served half of their terms but the others have not been released yet for being involved in other cases.
