Inter-regional meeting in Tunis next December 3-6 of Global Fund Programme recipient countries

TUNIS- Tunisia is hosting next December 3-6 the 5th inter-regional meeting of the National Coordination and Follow-up Committees of the North Africa and Middle East countries that have the benefit of the ''Global Fund'' programme, the world fund of fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Some 200 officials are expected to attend this meeting including notably health ministers or their delegates and delegates of the Arab league, the national coordination and follow-up committees, the associative fabric, the private sector and the UN relevant structures. Co-operation between Tunisia and the "Global Fund" is part of carrying out a programme of increased partnership and development of national efforts in matters of fight against AIDS , a programme started in Tunisia in September 2007 and extending up to the year 2012, by means of credits estimated at 22,598 million dinars.

The chief aim of this programme is to reinforce Tunisia's efforts in matters of prevention and it is based on partnership between public and private institutions, the components of the civil society and the specialised NGOs.
