Today, Monday, coincides with 52nd anniversary of Historic Sakiet Sidi Youssef Battle On this date in 1958, the French colonialists launched an air attack on Sidi Youssef village, located between Algeria and Tunisia, and which left many children, women and elderly dead. Sakiet Sidi Youssef reminds of the events that took place in "Issian", located between Libya and Algeria, where Libyan and Algerian blood mixed to defend land, honor and dignity. During his speech at the grand popular festival in Sakiet Sidi Youssef in 1988, the Leader of the Revolution asserted that "We should never forget that colonialism has no time, as colonialism could return again when there are conditions and circumstances that lie in weakness, instability, subordination and surrender". The commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the historic battle, where the blood of the Algerian and Tunisian peoples mixed, began in Algeria and Tunisia since Friday. President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, of the Republic of Tunisia, sent a cable to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on this occasion. He said the battle would remain the symbol of solidarity between the brotherly Tunisian and Algerian peoples, which future generations would the example from, and an incentive that embodies the meaning of unity of destiny to jointly work and promote the cordial and cooperation ties, and push forward the Arab Maghrebian march for the benefit of the peoples of the region. / JANA /
