ALGIERS- The import duty on hard wheat have been suspended due to the surge in the prices on the international market, said Thursday here Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Rachid Benaissa.Speaking on the sidelines of a closed-doors meeting with the members of the Committee of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment of the People's National Assembly (APN, Lower House of Parliament), the minister said that the "import duty on hard wheat has been suspended and not 'abolished' as it was reported in the national press."The minister has not however specified the duration of this suspension
